Inside the process

How it works.

A plain English walk from first enquiry to your assets in your name, then on through storage, statements and selling. Every step in the open, fully transparent on fees. Five steps to invest, two paths after that depending on whether you bought a cask or coins.

No surprises, no jargon

Five steps to invest. Two paths after that.

The first five steps are the same whether you are buying a whisky cask or buying gold coins. After your money is invested and your name is on the warehouse or vault paperwork, the two products work differently. We have laid both out below so you can see exactly what to expect.

The five steps everyone goes through

From enquiry to invested.

1
Step one
Enquire.

Download the free guide, or book a fifteen-minute call. Either order works. Follow-ups happen when you ask for them, on your timeline.

2
Step two
Chat.

A real person walks you through what you are considering. Straight answers from someone who knows the casks and the coins. You ask whatever you want, we answer in plain English. Most calls last about twenty minutes.

3
Step three
Proposal.

A written proposal in plain English. What you would own (the specific cask number, or the specific coin denominations), what you would pay (the asset, the fees, the storage), what you would see in your account from day one.

4
Step four
Invest.

Get your recommendation, ten minutes online. Same checks as opening a savings account: ID, address, source of funds. Then pay by bank transfer, the way you would pay for anything else. We confirm receipt within one working day.

5
Step five
Assets in your name, securely.

We register the cask in your name with the bonded warehouse, or allocate the coins to you on the vault inventory. Your name appears on the official third-party paperwork before any handover from us. You can verify with the warehouse or vault directly, at any time.

After step five

Same five steps. Two products, two paths.

The first five steps are the same. After that, the two products diverge. Whisky casks live in a Scottish bonded warehouse and stay in bond until they're bottled (that's how HMRC bond works). Gold coins are yours to vault, deliver, or split between the two.

Whisky casks Scotland

Stored, visited, bottled when you're ready.

Storage.

Stored in an HMRC-bonded warehouse in Scotland. The same kind the distilleries themselves use. We pay the storage and insurance for the first twelve months, then a flat annual fee shown up front. Typical range £40 to £80 per cask per year, including insurance and rotation.

Visiting.

Arranged when you'd like to go. We sort the time, drive you up to the warehouse, walk you to your cask and let you draw a sample.

Casks stay in Scottish bond until you bottle them. Standard HMRC bond rules, the same ones every distillery works under.

UK gold London

Vaulted, delivered, or both.

Storage.

The vault is LBMA-approved, allocated to you specifically, and insured. We pay vaulting and insurance for the first twelve months, then a flat annual fee shown up front. Typical range £30 to £60 a year for a vault holding, depending on size, including insurance.

Delivery.

By insured signed-for courier, tracked the whole way. Sealed Royal Mint tubes for new coins, secure packaging for second-hand. You can swap between vault and delivery at any time.

Pick whichever feels easier

Three minutes with the guide,
or fifteen on the phone.

The guide is a PDF you can read on the train. The call is a real person to answer all of your questions in plain English. Either order works.
